Fifty-five Goodwill Ambassadors were feted at the recent Ambassador Recognition Luncheon
(Sarasota/Bradenton, FL) Goodwill Manasota honored 55 “Goodwill Ambassadors” at its Ambassador Recognition Luncheon on June 18, 2013, at Michael’s on East. During the event, some special awards were given. Mary LeMay was honored as “Volunteer of the Year.” All Faiths Food Bank was recognized as “Partner of the Year,” and Clear Channel Communications was acknowledged as “Media Sponsor of the Year.” The firm, CS&L CPAs, was recognized as “Sponsor of the Year.”
Since the program’s inception in 2011, Goodwill Ambassadors have been building awareness of Goodwill Manasota’s mission, programs and initiatives through speaking engagements at area service clubs, faith-based organizations, and professional and youth groups.
“Ambassadors show community members the ways Goodwill Manasota changes lives through the power of work and other services and programs we provide,” says Rick Hughes, director of Community Outreach. He adds that the Ambassador program has more than 400 volunteers and won the 2013 Volunteer Program of the Year by Goodwill International Industries.
“Our Goodwill Ambassador program is a people-to-people initiative that goes beyond simply writing a check,” says Bob Rosinsky, CEO and president of Goodwill Manasota. “Ambassadors inform the community of the improvements Goodwill makes in the quality of so many lives—and they inspire others to participate. We’ve witnessed the program’s effectiveness in multiple areas, including growth in donations, revenues, job connections, and jobs placed. We’re grateful to each and every individual who gives so much of his or her time and commitment to this worthy program.”
