(Tampa, FL), Thursday, June 13, 2013 – “Downtown: Fast Forward” is a video debuted at Tampa Downtown Partnership’s 27th Annual Meeting and Luncheon. The video is a compilation of eleven community members from all walks talking about their vision for Downtown Tampa in ten years from now. The video created new buzz words for the downtown vision… “more trees, more trains,” as expressed by a local second grader.

In addition to the video, a panel of young professionals also shared their dreams and vision of the future Downtown Tampa. Led by, Downtown Partnership’s Shaun Drinkard, Erin Chantry, Tindale-Oliver & Associates, Brandon Hicks, Twelfth Street Studio, Brian Seel, The Beck Group, and Ann-Eliza Taylor, Yates Law Firm discussed why they chose to live in Tampa, what will keep them here, and how do we get there. Some of the ideas shared included:
Mayor Bob Buckhorn followed up the panel as guest speaker echoing sentiments to celebrate our rich history, diversity and uniqueness. The mayor also spoke about the forward movement of the Riverwalk project, private sector investments such as Aloft Hotel, and the need to move forward with building more density in the downtown.
The event was attended by approximately 400 guests, Downtown Partnership board members were elected, outgoing chair, Larry D. Richey was recognized, incoming chair, David L. Smith and Dave Wills, Rays Radio broadcaster served as event emcee.
