(SARASOTA, Fla, May 22, 2013) Manasota SCORE elected Chapter Officers at their May membership meeting. Richard Randolph was elected to serve as Chair for the 2013-2014 program year. Dennis Zink was elected to the Vice Chair position. Joe May will stay on as Treasurer, and Charlie Sax will return as Secretary. All also serve as mentors for SCORE clients (www.manasota.score.org).
Randolph, SCORE’s current Vice Chair and Community Outreach Team Leader, has been a small business counselor since 1986. He previously worked with SCORE in Mesa, Arizona, and was a co-founder of the Arizona Small Business Development Center Network. Randolph has taught business and marketing courses at Arizona State University, Keller Graduate School, and Valencia College in Orlando.
A successful entrepreneur and senior business analyst, Zink specializes in strategic planning, expanding sales channels, creative marketing, turnarounds, acquisitions, and leveraged buy-outs. He created and published over 30 successful magazines and was founding publisher of Tampa Bay Business Journal.
May had a long career in commercial banking. He helped countless businesses with successful start-ups and many others to return to favorable operations. He has served as Executive Vice President and Chief Credit Officer for national banks and is a past National Chairman of the R.M.A., a trade association of credit risk managers from the top 3,000 banks.
Sax was a salesman for Nalco Chemical Co. in three major metropolitan areas. After sales, marketing and general management positions, he was appointed president of Adco Technologies, manufacturer of adhesives for construction and automotive industries; he took the company public and then sold it. While retired, he serves on the Advisory Board of a New York-based private equity firm and on the board of directors for PPG, a Myrtle Beach, SC, company that manufactures plumbing parts.
May and Sax were honored recently as Core Team members of the Manasota SCORE All Stars for their years of giving outstanding service to the organization and to SCORE clients. Sax also received the Platinum Award, the Chapter’s highest merit award.
SCORE is a national, nonprofit organization started in 1964. SCORE has over 12,000 members, retired business executives who donate their time providing education and mentoring services for people who are starting a new or growing an existing business.
