Fresh Casual Chinese Restaurant Hosts Grand Opening Community
Celebration to Benefit the Brandon Sports and Aquatic Center
Brandon, Florida, May 8, 2013 — Wok Chi – a stylish, fresh casual restaurant that serves authentic, pan-regional Chinese food – will open to the public on Monday, May 13, 2013 at Regency Square in Brandon. Created by Wok Chi USA LLC., Wok Chi offers a fun, interactive experience that honors tradition while embracing contemporary style. Wok Chi captures the life force energy known as “chi,” which is expressed in the restaurant’s design, cooking style and overall experience (hence the name Wok Chi).
Prior to its opening, Wok Chi is hosting a Grand Opening Community Day to benefit the Brandon Sports and Aquatic Center (BSAC) on Saturday, May 11, 2013 from 11am to 8pm. Tickets are available for $15.00 per person; $10.00 for children (12 and under); 100% of the proceeds will benefit the BSAC Children’s Summer Camp programs. Reservations can be made by calling 813.689.0908. Walk-ins are also welcomed. This family-friendly event will feature a DJ and dim sum samples will be served throughout the day.
“We are grateful for the warm welcome we have received from the Brandon community,” said Rahul Chaubal, vice president of Operations of Wok Chi. “From our new friends at the Brandon Sports and Aquatic Center to our neighbors at Regency Square, it has been a positive experience for us in preparing for our official opening.”
“We look forward to introducing the Brandon community to authentic Chinese food. Every single item on the menu is MSG-free, presented quickly, and always made to order,” adds Chaubal. “It is our intention to immerse and transport our guests to a modern Chinese experience. We appeal to the guest who is in search of a speedy, fresh and satisfying dining experience.”
At Wok Chi, they wok sear. Dishes are quickly crafted to order in the wok—a traditional Chinese vessel with a rounded bottom that relies more on steam than oil. Wok searing seals in the juices, sauces and chi (energy) of the ingredients while imparting a rich, smoky flavor. Each stir-fry is individually customized and prepared fresh, just the way guests crave it, every single time. The dim sum—from jioazi (dumplings) and spring rolls to pork buns and crab rangoon—is always fresh, hearty, made to order and fun to sample. Guests can experiment with small plates, discover new favorites and create their own dim sum medley.
