|(April 8, 2013 – Bradenton, FL) Phi Beta Psi – Beta Kappa Chapter will be holding their 4th Annual Phi Beta Psi “Run for a Cure” Poker Run on Sunday, April 28th, 2013. Motorcycles & Automobiles are welcome, participants will be leaving from Woody’s River Roo – 5717 18th Street East, Ellenton, Florida. Registration will start at 10:00 am and last bike or car out at 11:00am. The participants will follow a preset route to build their Poker Hand with last bike or car back to Woody’s River Roo by 2:00pm. This event will feature live music, food & drink specials , 50/50 Raffle, Wheel Barrow of Booze giveaway, Lotto Scratch Off Board & Prizes for the Best and Worst Hand.
Phi Beta Psi Sorority is a national organization which was founded in Columbus, Ohio in 1904. It is not affiliated in any way with a college or university, but is a civic organization. Beta Kappa Chapter is a local chapter in Bradenton, with the purpose of conducting fundraisers raising money for cancer research. Our aims through the years have been to promote fraternal relationship among our members, to assist in civic improvement in our communities, and of course, to further our National Project – Cancer Research.
Some recipients of research grants over the years have been Moffitt Cancer Center, M.D. Anderson, Florida Hospital, Children’s National Medical Center, and Palmer Eye Institute.
