Since being diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis, (MS), seven years ago,Scott Seymour has made fundraising for the National MS Society a priority in his life. Scott, his family, and hisfriends are known as Team Pango. They spend nights, weekends organizing, andentering events to raise money, which is used for research to find a cure for MS.
In addition to the races, participants and spectators will be able to purchase bar-b-q, MS bracelets, and t-shirts. There will also be a bike raffle. Local singer and entertainer Gary Garbleman performs and sings musicfrom the‘70s and ‘80s.
Although MS is a chronic progressive disease that attacks the central nervous system, patients, such as Scott, can experience extended periods in remission with the help of the new Disease Modifying Therapies.
Currently there is no cure for MS. The money raised goes to supportresearch as well as family assistance and education.
“Every dollar puts us closer to a cure,” said Scott. Others with MS, friends and supporters have organized Team Pango. A team of drivers with MS will hit AndersenRacePark to prove what Team Pango stands for-“Positive Attitudes Never GrowOld.”
