St. Petersburg Area Chamber of Commerce Announces Finalists
March 21st, 2013 | St. Petersburg — May is well-known as the month for honoring women. Along with Mother’s Day, there’s National Nurses and Teachers Days—both professions dominated by females. This year, the St. Petersburg Area Chamber of Commerce kicks off May by honoring Iconic Women in Tampa Bay.
The Iconic Women of St. Petersburg luncheon, hosted by the St. Petersburg Chamber of Commerce and presenting sponsor, Ceridian, will be held at the Hilton St. Petersburg Bayfront starting on Thursday, May 2, 2013. Celebrating women with vision, the event focuses attention on the influential professional and community leadership roles Tampa Bay area women fulfill. Individual awards celebrate honorees for achievement in improving their professional environment and enhancing lives of fellow citizens.
The luncheon event includes a VIP “Lipstick Lounge”, which will open at 10:30am. The Lipstick Lounge provides a special networking and celebratory atmosphere for sponsors, nominees and VIP ticket holders prior to the event. The event will also feature a Boutique Shopping experience, with vendors from throughout Tampa Bay offering special merchandise and discounts. The Lipstick Lounge and Iconic Boutique will open at 10:30am, and the luncheon program will begin promptly at Noon.

Each category’s “Woman With Vision” winner will be announced at the luncheon on May 2nd. “Selection is always difficult,” says Andi Gordon, Chair of the Iconic Women committee. “When you have such amazing women to choose from, it’s not a process of deciding a winner. But more, who to honor from the list of candidates.”
The finalists listed above were selected from over 130 nominees by a committee of volunteers who spent countless hours reviewing the submissions and selecting the stand-outs. “This is such an amazing group of women. It is an honor just to be nominated,” says Gordon.
