Venice, FL, Feb. 18 2013 — A Sarasota couple has won ArtisTree Landscape Maintenance & Design’s “Design & Dine” contest consisting of a $10,000 Backyard Makeover and a catered party from Michael’s On East .
Contest entrants were required to submit photos and compelling stories explaining why they deserved a backyard makeover. A story submitted by Missy Cooper attracted the most public votes in a month-long social media campaign, with voters responding to her husband Kevin’s full-time work and school schedule and Missy’s wish to give him a new landscape as a May graduation gift. Kevin served a tour of duty in Iraq and currently serves as executive director of the Siesta Key Chamber of Commerce.
“This contest began as a way to build awareness for the ArtisTree brand,” said Debra Morrow, ArtisTree’s vice president of marketing. “But throughout the process we were all reminded of why we got into this business to begin with — and that is to transform people’s lives through beautiful and functional landscapes. It was a moving experience for us to see how thrilled this young, hardworking couple was when we arrived on their doorstep to announce their win.”
An early-April completion is anticipated.
