Tampa, FL (February 5, 2013) – Tampa Bay WaVE, a non-profit that helps entrepreneurs turn ideas into growing technology ventures, announced it will launch the FirstWaVE Venture Center in 16,000 square feet of space in the Rivergate Tower in downtown Tampa. The official public launch of the Venture Center is scheduled for March 2013 and there are plans to host a few open houses/information sessions in late February.
The FirstWaVE Venture Center in Rivergate Tower will be used for events and coworking as well as for business incubator and accelerator activities, meet-ups and other programming. All available office spaces have already been reserved by local technology startup companies and a waiting list is in place. Once the full build-out of the Venture Center is complete, it will accommodate 20 tech startup companies in addition to the other services it offers.
“We are so grateful to In-Rel Properties for what will be a best-in-class innovation facility once it is completed. The Venture Center promises to be a signature asset to the Tampa Bay community and the city’s technology industry,” said Linda Olson, founder of Tampa Bay WaVE.
The FirstWaVE Venture Center will be a “one-stop shop” for entrepreneurs wanting to work on new technology business ventures, brainstorm with colleagues, meet with mentors, connect with local tech talent, bump elbows with investors, find interns or even get the education they need through workshops and other events in the center.
“The Tampa Bay Wave speaks to In-Rel Properties in a very personal way. The company was founded almost three decades ago by two entrepreneurs who left stable careers to start a real estate company,” said Mukang Cho, Chief Executive Officer and Principal of In-Rel Properties. “Tampa Bay Wave sits at the forefront of many exciting things that will benefit the Tampa business community and the technology industry. We are honored to be able to partner with WaVE in its growth, as well as the development of its members and the Tampa Bay business community.”
