EBT/SNAP cards may be used to purchase eligible foods from more than 15 vendors at the Saturday market. From just-picked produce and wholesome dairy to bread products, there’s a lot for EBT/SNAP cardholders to choose from.
The Clearwater Gateway Farmers Market is open every Saturday between 9 AM and 2 PM. It’s located on the 1200 block of Cleveland St at the Missouri Ave. intersection in downtown Clearwater. Planning to use SNAP/EBT to purchase items at the market? The EBT tent exchanges benefits for Market Bucks in $1, $3 and $5 denominations. The bucks are accepted at any market booth that displays a SNAP/EBT sign.
Items that may be purchased with SNAP/EBT: Baked goods that are wrapped, labeled and intended for home consumption; Fruits and vegetables; Breads; Dairy products; Jams, sauces and soups; Meat, fish and poultry; Maple and honey products; Seeds and plants that grow food. Non-food items, foods to be eaten on-site, hot foods and vitamins or medicines cannot be purchased with SNAP/EBT. The Clearwater Gateway Farmers Market is a partnership between the City of Clearwater, the Pinellas County Health Department’s Communities Putting Prevention to Work (CPPW) grant, the InterCultural Advocacy Institute, and Pinellas County Health & Human Services.
