Tampa, FL — Yoga Rhythm Lounge is a one-of-a-kind experience that combines DJ grooves, drummers, and yoga. In 2013, we’re taking it up a notch and opening up the top music festival in Tampa Bay, Gasparilla Music Festival. We’re talking fun in the sun, getting your sun salutations in while enjoying downtown Tampa, and invigorating your body and soul with DJ Brian Jackson and drumming by Mike Bowen. Our yoga event begins March 9 at 10 a.m. sharp, followed by the sounds of Ozomatli, Dawes, Black Joe Lewis & the Honeybears, Lord Huron, The Hip Abduction, Nervous Turkey, and more!
Yoga Rhythm Lounge is one of the longest standing yoga-meets-dance club events in the Bay, and has attracted hundreds of rhythm seekers over the last three years. Yoga Rhythm Lounge reflects the yoga scene’s expansion into hybrid events and taking yoga into unique settings. The event is a feel-good vibe that matches perfectly with Gasparilla Music Festival’s rock, soul, reggae, hip hop and latin beats. Entry into the yoga portion of the festival gets you into the entire event of jam-packed music and epic performances.
“Dance is essential to us feeling creative and unlocking our spirit,” said Sarah Lesch, Yoga Rhythm Lounge co-founder and lead yoga instructor in an interview. “We feel better when we dance.” Every rhythm during the event is hand picked to awaken, then stimulate, and balance your being. You don’t need to be the next dancer extraordinaire to attend as the event is for all levels. All you need is to love music, enjoy the journey that yoga takes you on, and be ready to join in the ecstatic experience called Yoga Rhythm Lounge.
Yoga, dance and live music are putting Tampa Bay on the map and catching it up with the world around it. Miami recently turned the Art Basel conference into a big yogi meets music and fest at YogArt. Chicago hosted a 1,000-person music and yoga event in 2012. New York has a yoga studio with a coffee shop and bar inside it, for a one-stop yoga meets nightlife experience. And California has been the site of major yoga and music festivals such as Wanderlust. So it’s only natural that Tampa Bay gets to have a yoga rhythm event of its own.
