St. Petersburg, FL (Dec. 27, 2012) – The public is invited to visit with animals from Tampa’s Lowry Park Zoo outside The Mahaffey Theater, on the Plaza, from 1-2:30pm Sunday. This is before Jungle Jack Hanna’s Into the Wild Live show, scheduled in the theater at 3pm.
Known as the world’s favorite zookeeper, Jack Hanna is returning to his Florida roots to share stories from his world adventures. Hanna started working with animals at his local veterinarian’s office when he was 11 years old. His love for animals turned into a career when he became director of the Central Florida Zoo in Sanford, Seminole County. After two years, he moved to Ohio and became the executive director of the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium.
Jack Hanna created Jack Hanna’s Animal Adventure, a nationally syndicated television show in 1993 and additionally hosts the Emmy Award-winning children’s show, Jack Hanna’s Into the Wild. He is the top animal correspondent for Good Morning America.

*These animals are temperature sensitive and might not be able to visit.
Some of them are “touch” animals meaning that people can touch them with two fingers, toward the tail end of the body. Hand sanitizer is provided to anyone who touches an animal. Number of people touching animals is limited to 15.
