Hazan shares his lifelong love of food—food that is simple, honest and incredibly flavorful—empowering his students to create impressive meals that are consistently and reliably delicious. His cookbooks have earned him a James Beard Award nomination and the World Cookbook Award for Best Italian Cookbook in the English Language. In 2007, the International Association of Culinary Professionals named Hazan the Cooking Teacher of the Year. Together with his wife, Lael, he runs an acclaimed cooking school in northern Italy, Cooking with Giuliano Hazan at Villa Giona.
The Jewish Book Festival continues with New York Times bestselling author Rich Cohen (February 13, 2013); bestselling author and screenwriter Delia Ephron (March 3, 2013); and former award-winning reporter and national correspondent for The New York Times Leslie Maitland (March 3, 2013).
“This year’s festival features a stellar line-up,” says festival co-chair Marvin Waldman. “These are lively, brilliant individuals and we’re honored to introduce them to our community.” He notes that the authors will speak about a range of topics—from politics to comedy. “There are sure to be topics that appeal to a wide range of interests, ages and points of view,” says Waldman.
