SARASOTA, Fla. (Dec. 19, 2012) – Sarasota Memorial Healthcare Foundation, Inc. held its 17th Annual Corinthian Society Celebration recognition event on Dec. 6, 2012, at the Bird Key Yacht Club. Those honored for fiscal year 2011-2012 included:
▼ David F. Bolger and Adrienne Matcham each received gold medallions signifying the Foundation’s highest honor– Ambassador of Philanthropy Award. Their generous gifts have had a significant and documented impact on medical and behavioral care within our community and beyond.
▼Twelve donors were awarded crystal Pillars for cumulative gifts in three categories ranging from $100,000, $250,000 to $500,000 or more.
▼Twelve donors became Doctors of Philanthropy and received personalized lab coats and stethoscopes for making cumulative gifts and commitments of $50,000 or more.
▼Six Legacy of Life members were recognized for their commitment through a will, trust agreement, prepaid life insurance policy or other estate plan vehicle.
▼Fifty Corinthian Society donors received gold Corinthian pins for their cumulative gifts of $5,000 or more.
The evening also featured a special announcement of a $1 million pledge made by Marty and Paulette Samowitz for the Foundation’s ENVISION initiative. The main lobby in Sarasota Memorial’s new Courtyard Tower will be named the Samowitz Family Lobby.
More than 200 guests attended the event sponsored by Northern Trust.
