SARASOTA, Fla. ( December 11, 2012) – The City of Sarasota, The Greater Sarasota Chamber of Commerce (GSCC), and Sarasota Downtown Improvement District (DID) are pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Norman Gollub as the new Economic Development Coordinator for downtown Sarasota.
This unique position is funded by this organizational consortium because its members believe that the success of our region is inextricably tied to the economic health of downtown Sarasota. Having an experienced, full time professional, focused on increasing pedestrian activity, supporting and growing current business and attracting new ventures to downtown will enhance our community, grow our tax base and add more jobs.
“Mr. Gollub brings an exceptional level of professional credentials, including membership in the International Economic Development Council, and expertise to this position,” noted Chamber president Steve Queior. “Out of all of the many resumes submitted, Norm’s brought the best mix of capabilities to meet our needs.”
He has over twenty years of economic development experience including business recruitment/retention, commercial corridor revitalization, and real estate development. Gollub worked in urban design and development in Greensville, S.C., and Portland, OR, and has served as a consultant to numerous public and private clients.
Gollub and his wife will move to Sarasota in January, when he will start working from an office in The Chamber building at 1945 Fruitville Rd., Sarasota, 941-556-4053.
