Island Gourmet Grill has teamed up with F.E.L.T. “Feeding Empty Little Tummies of Manatee County. A charity that provides weekend sustenance to homeless school children in the community, by way of backpacks filled with two days worth of non-perishable food items.
Holmes Beach, FL, December 3, 2012 –Island Gourmet Grill is showing support and will be accepting donations for F.E.L.T. “Feeding Empty Little Tummies”, of Manatee County for the month of December.
Jane Evers, founder of Feeding Empty Little Tummies Inc., wants to ensure no child goes hungry over the weekend. Manatee County Schools identify the children who need help. Some may be homeless while others are in immediate danger of becoming homeless. To date, the school district has identified over 1,000 children in crisis.
According to organizers of Feeding Empty Little Tummies Inc., $25 will feed one child for six weeks. Typical backpack food items needed include oatmeal and cereal packs, pasta cups, fruit cups, raisins, beans with franks, and peanuts and Almonds. No glass containers, tab tops are preferred.
