One out of eight women are diagnosed with breast cancer each year in the United States, and will have some sort of surgery that will leave scars, some worse than others. Then what? Our society places so much emphasis on women’s breasts. It is no wonder that breast cancer survivors are left feeling that they lost something so significant. Clothing with a Kiss, LLC has created lingerie to restore passion and confidence by “covering” the cancer breast in sexy, fun, and tasteful negligees made in the USA.
“I was diagnosed with stage 2 triple negative invasive ductal carcinoma at the age of 29, ” says Brandon, FL survivor and model Angela Bitello. “Defeating cancer is an incredible feeling, but I was left with multiple scars which have made me feel insecure. I don’t feel pretty. I’m embarrassed since they don’t look the same. I froze my eggs pre-chemo, and now blessed to have a 20-month-old baby, but I hide under my clothes instead of feeling proud. I would love to find lingerie that makes me feel sexy.”
The founder of Clothing with a Kiss, LLC, Heather Joie, has struggled with a disfigured left breast; she had numerous surgeries, leaving her with numerous scars and uneven breasts. Through her journey of cancer, she discovered that she was not alone. So many women lamented about their loss of femininity, not feeling sexy, getting undressed in the dark, wearing frumpy nightgowns, and not being able to find sexy lingerie. Clothing with a Kiss, LLC was created to help these women feel good about themselves again.
To honor breast cancer women, Clothing with a Kiss, LLC has an on-going “contest”, nominate yourself or someone else and the “winner” will have the lingerie named after the person. The garment tag will bear the breast cancer women’s name.
