|The Mission of The Parrish Foundation shall be to enhance the quality of life in theParrish community, to enrich the lives of its citizens who choose to be a part of the community, to provide sustainable support for the new and emerging needs of businesses in the community, and to grant funds for the philanthropic needsof the community while preserving the culture and heritage of Parrish.
Parrish, FL-Hugh McGuire Chairman of the Parrish Foundation Board announced the award ofover $18,000 in grants to local organizations. Grant Committee chairman Gordon Wardell said, “The mission of theParrish Foundation is to enhance the quality of life in our community. Foundedin 2009, we held our first major fundraiser, a ‘Chili Cook Off’, in March ofthis year, and it was so successful it will be an annual event. The proceeds ofthe ‘Chili Cook Off’Maj provided funding for these grants to charitable organizationsserving the Parrish Community.”
Tennon-profit organizations applied and the grants were awarded based on the need,purpose, and impact to Parrish residents.
In addition to the above the Foundation made aspecial grant to Majical Miniatures, a local organization that rescues andrehabilitates animals-from household pets to farm animals and exotics. MajicalMiniatures is totally dependent on donations and contributions and their”friends” include but are not limited to a kangaroos, horses, dogs and a llama.
“We believethe grants will provide support to these many wonderful organizations andpeople who will benefit from their work. Parrish is a community that comes together and helps those in need. TheParrish Foundation works tirelessly to fulfill our purpose and mission.
