Tampa, FL – November 29, 2012. Carlos A. Fuente, Sr. and his children, Carlito Fuente and Cynthia Fuente Suarez, owners of Arturo Fuente Cigars, have given future generations of their family and the city of Tampa a lasting treasure. Last week, the Fuente family held a dedication ceremony for the Fuente Companies’ global headquarters in the Ybor City district of Tampa. The Fuente’s newly-restored 117-year-old cigar factory building showcased the talents of over twenty Tampa companies who have been responsible for bringing back the splendor and history of this historic building. No detail has been overlooked in this restoration project, which began in 2009, and is expected to be complete in 2013. Carlito Fuente said, “It’s about Tampa, and family. I want to give something tangible to my hometown and to my children. Passing the torch is just as important as making your mark in this world.”
This year the Arturo Fuente Company celebrated its 100 years anniversary. When A. Fuente & Company was established in Tampa in 1912, Arturo Fuente would have never dreamed his passion for cigars would become a global leader in the cigar industry. He started the company with most humble beginnings, rolling and blending cigars in the back of the house with his wife Cristina and two sons, Arturo Oscar and Carlos. Four generations later, Carlos leads the company, which is still family owned and operated. From the very beginning, the focus of making a Fuente cigar was quality – quality tobacco, quality craftsmanship, and taking the time necessary to make a truly remarkable cigar. “We don’t hurry things; we just do things the way they are supposed to be done. “ says Carlos A. Fuente, Sr. 100 years later, the passion for quality cigars continues to inspire the Fuente family. The family welcomes the fourth generation of family into the business, ensuring that the Fuente family will continue to make the world’s finest cigars for generations to come.
