TAMPA, FL― USF AHEC and Playbook Public Relations, Tampa, FL, have launched a public awareness campaign to promote USF AHEC’s tobacco cessation services to new audiences throughout its nine county service area. Playbook PR will facilitate the IQuit with AHEC campaign to drive participants to USF AHEC’s cessation programs. Quit Smoking Now (QSN) utilizes a 6-week format and Tools to Quit (TTQ) utilizes a two-hour format. USF AHEC seeks to increase the enrollment of tobacco users wanting to quit in both of these programs.
IQuit with AHEC highlights the importance of quitting tobacco and the availability of USF AHEC’s cessation programs which have a success rate of 33% compared to just 7% for those going it alone. With the launch of the new IQuit Facebook, Twitter, and Google+ pages, individuals who would like to quit using tobacco will have available platforms to ask questions and become further informed about how to quit. Playbook PR will also help ramp up outreach to doctors and local businesses in order to bring awareness of the programs to their respective patients and employees.
Playbook PR was selected as agency of record for USF AHEC’s efforts to expand its smoking cessation programs because of the agency’s experience in the health care industry and its innovative marketing plan. Through partnership with USF AHEC and its two centers, Gulfcoast North AHEC and Gulfcoast South AHEC, Playbook will leverage the unique aspects of USF AHEC cessation programs, including the accessibility of the programs. USF AHEC’s Quit Smoking Now and Tools to Quit classes are free.
“We are pleased to be partnered with Playbook PR and we look forward to bringing our tobacco cessation services to the public to promote health in our communities,” says Leila Martini, USF AHEC Assistant Director.
