|SkinSmart Dermatology has continued its support of Sarasota’s Bread of Life Outreach by donating over $1,500 to help buy Thanksgiving turkeys for Sarasota’s homeless, elderly and needy families.
“We are happy to help the Reverend Neil McArthur and his wife Shirley in their Outreach work to help bring Thanksgiving to local families,” said Ronald Allbee, SkinSmart Chief Executive Officer.
Dr. Callahan and SkinSmart started working with the Bread of Life Outreach last July when it learned the group needed funds to sponsor a Fourth of July picnic for Sarasota’s homeless in a local park.
SkinSmart donated $1,300 for the picnic which was about to be cancelled due to lack of funds to pay for the park rental. More than 400 needy families eventually attended.
This past week over 300 turkeys were distributed by the Outreach program to families along with food baskets and Publix gift certificates.
“We are thankful to individuals like Dr. Callahan for making our Thanksgiving program a true success,” said Ms. McArthur, the group’s cofounder and program coordinator.
SkinSmart Dermatology, which was founded by Dr. Callahan, has a staff of nearly 40 and is located at 5911 North Honore Avenue just off University Parkway.
