Promoted to Position of Research Civil Engineer
Spring Hill, Florida – Coraggio Maglio, a former Hernando County resident and graduate of Wider Horizons High School, was recently honored by the Chief of Engineers, Lt. General Thomas Bostick, with the US Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Innovation of the Year Award. Maglio received the award while he was engineering technical lead in the Jacksonville District. He received the award during a ceremony at the USACE Senior Leader’s Conference in Little Rock Arkansas.
Maglio received the award for his weir design that uses dual box risers in a single slab.
Maglio has just been promoted to research civil engineer and has been relocated to the US Army Corps of Engineers Engineer Research and Development Center in Vicksburg, Mississippi. The Engineer Research and Development Center (ERDC) is a US Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) laboratory organization whose mission is to “Provide science, technology, and expertise in engineering and environmental sciences in support of our Armed Forces and the Nation to make the world safer and better.”
Maglio is the son of Domenick and Julie Maglio of Brooksville and the son-in-law of Vince Vanni of Spring Hill.
