Murphy says his work is done and he leaves The Concession Bistro after many accolades and awards
(Anna Maria Island): Sean Murphy founder of the internationally acclaimed Beach Bistro and now the creator of three Eat Here restaurants in Anna Maria Island, Sarasota and soon to open on Siesta Key announced that he has concluded his consulting and management dining room responsibilities at The Concession Golf Club in Lakewood Ranch.
“The Concession Bistro is in great shape and I’m leaving it in very capable hands,” said Murphy. “I’m going to miss the friendships with The Concession members and I’m grateful that Tony Jackln will still be drinking at my bar at Beach Bistro where it all began years ago.”
Tony Jacklin designed The Concession golf course in association with Jack Nicklaus. The course was named “Best New Private Course of 2006” by Golf Digest magazine. Under Murphy’s leadership in December 2010 The Concession Bistro was honored with an Invitation by the James Beard Foundation to host a performance dinner at the Beard House in Manhattan, the equivalent of culinary Oscars. That was Sean Murphy’s second appearance at the James Beard House.
Restaurateur Murphy says he will now focus his full attention on keeping the award-winning Beach Bistro innovative in terms of menu, wine list, and culinary events. He’ll also continue to refine his new concept Eat Here which was voted Best New Restaurant in 2012 by SARASOTA Magazine and SRQ Magazine and by the Sarasota Herald-Tribune newspaper.
