TAMPA, FL (November 6, 2011) — In recognition of Veterans Day, Wheels of Success has teamed up with State Farm Insurance and Ferman Automotive to honor two local veterans through the Wheels of Success Vehicles for Veterans program.
Wheels of Success will present cars to two local veterans at Ferman Automotive, 11025 N. Florida Avenue (North of the Collision Center), Tampa 33612 from 9:00-10:00 am on Friday, November 9.
Michal C. served with the Florida Army National Guard and is a single Mom of a two year old, who is riding her bike to work after having her car repossessed due to downsizing from her previous job. She has since found another full time position at a local non-profit and has already received a promotion, but without a vehicle and riding a bike she is often late to work due to inclement weather.
Alpha M. is an Air Force Iraqi War veteran who also served in Kuwait and was referred to Wheels of Success through the Veterans Administration. Alpha has a medical condition that does not allow him to continue serving in the military. He owned a car that needed major repairs that would have cost more than the car was worth, so Alpha will be getting a “new to him” 2000 Chevrolet Impala at the event.
State Farm donated the two vehicles and Ferman Automotive paid for all the repairs to make them roadworthy. Says Susan Jacobs, founder and CEO of Wheels of Success, “It is because of community partners such as these that we can provide as many vehicles as we do, considering our limited funding and staff. We cannot thank our partners enough for their continued support in honoring local veterans. This delivery is 100% their doing.”
