PALM HARBOR (November 8, 2012) – Applications are now being accepted for The Greater Palm Harbor Area Chamber of Commerce “Battle of the Wings Contest,” featuring a tasting contest of some of Pinellas Counties best chicken wing restaurants and vendors. The event begins at 10am Saturday, December 1st. Judging is at 2pm the same day. The festival closes at 5pm Saturday and opens again on Sunday December 2nd from 10am until 4pm. Patrons can purchase a sampling of many varieties and flavors from favorite restaurants and vendors, while enjoying works by nearly 100 area artists. The contest takes place at the 38th Annual Fine Arts and Crafts Festival in historic downtown Palm Harbor on Florida Avenue. Vendors may enter “Battle Of The Wings” by calling the Palm Harbor Chamber at (727) 784-4287. The contest entry fee is $100. Vendors must carry insurance. The deadline for entry into the contest is November 24, 2012.
The festival was founded by Louise and Bill Hoskins and a visual arts scholarship is awarded to a local high school student in their honor. Some of the proceeds from the festival help fund this scholarship.
The festival will host live music for your listening pleasure. Come and enjoy food at our local downtown restaurants as well as street food vendors and children’s activities.
