|Welcome to Ellenton Ice’s Learn to Skate Program taught by our professional coaches and Olympians using the US Figure Skating Basic Skills Program. This program was developed by US Figure Skating, the national governing body of skating on ice in the United States.
The Basic Skills program is a beginning ice skating program that is fun, challenging and rewarding. There are 9 program levels: Snowplow Sam (tots) through to Basic 8, as well as adults levels 1 – 4. Each level progressively teaches the fundamentals of skating that are necessary for recreational, figure or ice hockey.
Sessions are 8 weeks in length (shorter when adjusted due to holidays) and run year round. Skaters can sign up for once, twice, or three times per week for a 45 minute group class. Evaluations are done on the last day of each class. The fee includes family member discounts , 4 free public skate passes and free skate rental for class.
