Inspiration for the Pioneer Round-Up …
Part of the excitement of the new Riverwalk is seeing the permanent display of art titled “Postcards from the Friendly City” created by artists Jean Blackburn and Don Brandes. They were commissioned by the Downtown Development Authority to portray the rich history of the Manatee River and Manatee Lands in nine postcards which are positioned along the Riverwalk.
Your Pioneer hosts are … The Manatee County Agricultural Museum, The Florida Maritime Museum at Cortez, Manatee Village Historical Park, Palmetto Historical Park and the Manatee County Historical Records Library. This event is created and produced by: R.B. “Chips” Shore, Manatee County Clerk of the Circuit Court & Comptroller, Department of Historical Resources. Realize Bradenton is a cultural partner.

(The Island Pearl is an ex-US Navy “Liberty Launch” originally built in 1991 by Willard Marine in California for the carrier USS ESSEX.
