House member received Community Associations Institute’s Florida Legislative Alliance (CAI-FLA) Award

October 25, 2012 by Press Release

Wednesday, September 26, 2012 State Representative Greg Steube received the annual “Friend of Community Associations and CAI Florida Legislative Alliance” legislative award at an October 3, 2012 ceremony at the Polo Grill at Lakewood Ranch, FL.  The award recognizes Representative Steube as a Distinguished Legislator and applauds his advocacy in legislative and regulatory matters impacting community associations and CAI members across Florida.

Steube, who represents the interests of District 73 was named the 2012 House of Representatives award recipient by the Florida Legislative Alliance Committee of the CAI National Government & Public Affairs Department, the legislative arm of the nation-wide Community Associations Institute, Inc., headquartered in Falls Church, VA., with eight chapters across Florida.

CAI West Florida Chapter Legislative Action Committee Delegate Douglas Wilson of Bradenton and CAI-Florida Legislative Alliance Lobbyist Travis Moore presented the award.  The Community Associations Institute’s Florida Legislative Alliance is the voice of CAI membership in Florida on legislative and regulatory matters.  As such, the Legislative Action Committee (LAC) and CAI’s eight Florida chapters work as partners in identifying and setting public affairs goals.  Florida chapters have a voice on the LAC through Chapter Delegates and work cooperatively in developing and communicating desirable public policies.  CAI-FLA provides a multi-disciplinary resource to inform the perspective of the public and legislators on matters that impact community associations, provides a grassroots network to inform members about key issues and significant legislative developments, including calls to action on important issues, and provides education and resources to community associations volunteers and industry professionals.  The non-profit organization annually identifies and recognizes Distinguished Legislators, advocating informed legislation and regulations that will result in vibrant and effective community associations.
