On Saturday, Nov. 3, the Museum of Science and Industry (MOSI), at 4801 East Fowler Ave. in Tampa, will hold the grand re-opening of its creative studio and learning lab, Idea Zone, in conjunction with its next $5 Day on Nov. 3. Interactive activities and take-home projects will be scheduled in Idea Zone throughout the day.
Idea Zone is both a laboratory and inventor’s studio that allows guests to discover the world around them and give life to their own creative ideas. Aspiring inventors can learn new skills in one of MOSI’s fun technology workshops or let their creative juices flow with any of MOSI’s designing machines. Whether it’s the video game industry or the maker movement, more and more people are looking for ways to move an idea from their head to their hand. In Idea Zone, guests can be creative with technology in a casual environment any day of the week.
MOSI hosts several $5 Days each year to help community members of all incomes to access MOSI exhibit galleries, including The Amazing You exhibition; Kids In Charge!, the largest children’s science center in the nation; and more than 450 hands-on, interactive exhibits. Admission on $5 Day also includes entrance to the IMAX Dome Theatre Film To The Arctic and the exhibition Target America – Opening Eyes to the Damage Drugs Cause.
MOSI will be open from 9 a.m. – 6 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 3, and the Sky Trail® Ropes Course and Zip Line will also be available that day for an additional fee. For more information, call MOSI reservations at 813-987-6000 or visit mosi.org.
