|MANATEE COUNTY, FL. (October 11, 2012) – It is Trick or Treat time and Manatee County Animal Services hopes people will attend their special adoption event, Does Tricks, Loves Treats to give a dog or cat the ultimate treat by adopting them.
The event will be held at both the Bradenton downtown and Palmetto animal services facilities on October 27th from 10:00 am-4:00 pm.
This event is special because adoption fees will be as low as $10.00 for animals who have been at the shelter for more than 60 days. All animals are spayed or neutered, health checked, vaccinated and micro chipped. Event organizers are hoping of reaching their goal of fifty adoptions for this two facility, six hour event. Adoption counselors will help guide potential adoptees through the shelter and adoption process by first finding out what kind of animal they are looking to adopt. Food, animal related vendors and a fall themed photo stage will be part of the event.
Both dogs and cats will be available at the downtown shelter, 1002 Manatee Avenue across from the courthouse and next to the county building with free parking in the parking garage behind the building. Dogs only will be available at the main shelter, 305 25th St. W., Palmetto.
“Adoption is one of our key programs in the No Kill plan,” said Kris Weiskopf, Animal Services Chief. “These events are vital to get people to our facility to show them the wonderful animals we have up for adoption.”
Manatee County is currently at 83% NO KILL and hopes to be at the required 901% by the end of 2012.
