A Choice Moment of Celebration
SARASOTA, FL – Locally-owned discount prescription sourcing company, CMS, Canada Med Services and its subsidiary, Discount Prescription Services, is hosting its Charity of Choice Celebration on Wednesday, November 8th, 2012 from 5:30p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at their offices located at 4119 Bee Ridge Road in Sarasota. The event will honor the customers who have selected a not-for-profit organization in our Charity of Choice program to donate, members of the participating local organizations and the introduction of the new charities applying to be part of the program for 2013.
“Charity of Choice is our way of saying ‘Thanks’ to the local organizations who support our community and do so much for the Arts, Culture, Sciences, Education, Health, Animal Rescue and Community Outreach, ” beams Samantha Hobbs, Vice President of Canada Med Services / Discount Prescription Services. She continues, “An event like this allows for our customers to meet and mingle with the members of the organizations supported by Charity of Choice.”
“We are honored to be a part of the Charity of Choice program,” said Emily Sperling, President of ShelterBox USA. “Canada Med has found a unique way to give back—by engaging its customers in the process. Because of their generous support, ShelterBox is able to provide shelter, warmth and dignity to families affected by disasters around the globe.”
“The Education Foundation of Sarasota County is honored to have this affiliation with Canada Med Services. Through its Charity of Choice program, 37 customers are making a difference in the lives of our community’s children,” explains Laura Breeze, CFRE, Advancement Director, Education Foundation of Sarasota County. She continues, “Their support is underwriting urgent initiatives serving the 42,000 students enrolled in our public schools, from Newtown to North Port. With the help of these generous donors, we are giving students what they need to succeed in the classroom – and in life.”
“Collaborating with businesses such as Canada Med Services is a win-win for everyone. On behalf of our more than 5,000 kids we serve, we are grateful to be included as a ‘Charity of Choice’ and look forward to a lasting partnership,” says Bill Sadlo, President and CEO, Boys & Girls Clubs of Sarasota County.
To date, more than 350 of CMS’ customers participate in the Charity of Choice program. Over the past year, CMS raised more than $2,500 for their 12 select charities and are looking for ten more this year. Nominations are due prior to the November 8th event.
