CLEARWATER (October 18, 2012) – With over 38,000 Pinellas County residents currently unemployed and looking for work, WorkNet Pinellas recognizes the importance of providing effective and up-to-date employability skills training to its job seekers.
WorkNet offers no cost workshops either in a lab forum with staff assistance or online in a self-paced environment to assist unemployed customers in becoming better prepared to gain employment. These workshops have been created to accommodate a wide range of job seekers, including youth, high school drop outs, recent graduates, veterans, professionals in transition, ex-offenders, families transitioning out of welfare assistance and the long-term unemployed.
With the recent addition of a 12-part video series “Job Hunting 101” to the WorkNet Pinellas website, job seekers can stream workshops from the comfort of their home. Job Hunting 101 provides information on topics such as interview skills, resume writing and cover letters, appropriate interview attire, guidance after job loss and much more.
Attending these workshops begins with a simple registration on Employ Florida Marketplace (EFM), an online resource for job listings, education and training opportunities and career building assistance provided by the State of Florida, www.EmployFlorida.com.
