New Port Richey, Fla. (October 17, 2012) — Florida Cancer Affiliates (FCA), a newly-formed, community-based medical oncology and hematology practice, announces that its New Port Richey center will host a general cancer support group meeting. The group meets every other Wednesday each month at the New Port Richey center, 5500 Little Road, New Port Richey, Florida 34654.
Anyone interested in joining and learning about this group should call Florida Cancer Affiliates New Port Richey center at 727-372-9159. The next meeting is scheduled for October 31, from 6 – 7:30 pm.
The bi-weekly support group at Florida Cancer Affiliates’ New Port Richey center is conducted by a licensed clinical social worker and covers a wide range of topics. Participants are provided with useful educational material about cancer and cancer treatment. Survivors and family members will be given the opportunity to raise concerns about their condition and learn what others are feeling and what they experience. Best of all, they will learn about the joy of new friendship and learn that they are not alone.
Anyone who has been touched by any form of cancer is invited to attend, not just patients of Florida Cancer Affiliates. Family members are also encouraged to attend. Refreshments are served and reservations are advised.
