Southwest Florida— The thousands of visitors that stopped by Grand Palm during its grand opening last month saw a glimpse of the state of the art technology at the Discovery Center. Located at 12386 Sagewood Drive in Venice, FL, the Discovery Center is the heart of activity at Grand Palm.
Unlike any new home real estate sales center in the Sarasota-Manatee region, the Grand Palm Discovery Center features two large interactive touch screens and four smaller tablets full of information about the area, floor plans, and the new home builder, Neal Communities. “The touch screens offer buyers a hands-on tool to discover all there is to know about Neal Communities,” said David Hunihan, director of sales for the Lakewood Ranch-based builder. “People can custom design the look of their floor plans, place furniture in their new home, and even email their favorite floor plans to themselves from the touchscreen displays,” said Hunihan.
Designed by a California-based company, the touchscreens have a hosted database that presents all the information. Unlike broadcasting, this concept is called narrow casting, and allows prospective homebuyers to create information tailored for their specific interests without having to flip through pages in a brochure.
“Buyers can get laser focused with these displays to bring up specific information based on their individual needs about schools, shopping, home design, restaurants, and more,” said Leisa Weintraub, creative director & vice president of marketing for Neal Communities. “Instead of the traditional floor plans, the interactive plans in the Discovery Center allow buyers to even add options like extra bedrooms or bathrooms to a plan they like – essentially creating their own home right before their eyes at the touch of their own hand. It’s very powerful.” These topo tables of the future use touch technology to engage people in a new and innovative way. Neal Communities will be using this type of interactive display in all new sales centers moving forward.
Priced from the mid $100’s, Grand Palm is the largest neighborhood Neal Communities has ever created in forty-one years of building, with plans for 1,999 single-family homes at build-out. At Grand Palm, buyers have a total of five product lines and a large variety of floor plans to choose from ranging in size from 1.079 sq. ft. to 2.535 sq. ft.
Grand Palm is the first project developed to meet not only the carefully-crafted, low-impact standards of Sarasota County’s Sarasota 2050 Initiative, but also the plan’s vision for sustainability. Centrally located off River Road and Center Road in Venice, the community is near great schools, amenities, and nature. The layout preserves over 33% of the land as open space and features spectacular preserved trees from the grand entrance, continuing throughout the community. The 266-home first phase opened for sales on September 8, 2012 with six models and another four expected to open by December.
Neal Communities was recently named one of 2012’s “America’s Best Builders” by BUILDER Magazine. The company is ranked #1 locally by Metrostudy and by Hanley Wood Market Intelligence based on number of home sales and ranked #67 nationally among home builders by BUILDER Magazine. To date, Neal has built over 8,600 homes in Southwest Florida.
