| Sarasota, FL (October 8, 2012) – Sarasota author Eve Littlepage http://www.evelittlepage.com/ is seeking Kickstarter Backers to publish her memoir, CELESTIAL BODIES IN ORBIT: Memoirs of The Unknown Stripper. Like many indie authors today, Eve is utilizing new resources to bypass traditional paths in order to publish before the end of 2012.
In her book, Eve examines the chain of events that led her to career as a striptease dancer, with the unlikely stage name of Lisa Doolittle, during the 1970’s and 80’s in the Boston area. “Back in those days,” said Eve, “I often found myself thinking, this stuff doesn’t happen in real life, it’s like something out of a book or movie. It took me 5 years to finally write it down. I don’t want to wait 5 more years to get it into print!”
With the help of Kickstarter, Eve is well on her way to realizing her dream. One week after posting her project on Kickstarter’s website, she already met over 35% of her $3,000. goal. With three weeks remaining, things look promising that her Kickstarter will be a success.
Eve hopes to join the ranks of Kickstarter projects that have far exceeded their goals. After Kickstarter and Amazon payments get their fees (appx. 10% total), and her Rewards are met, she’ll have just enough to publish, but little left for marketing. If she can double or triple her goal, it would provide funds for things like a professional Kirkus review, advertising, review copies, and a book-signing tour.
Established in 2009, Kickstarter is a revolutionary way to fund creative projects. Kickstarter is powered by a an all-or-nothing funding method where projects must be fully-funded or no money changes hands. It’s a unique venue for creative individuals to obtain funding and create interest for a wide array of projects.
Eve Littlepage launched her campaign on October 2nd. It will run until November 4th. Backers can pledge at different funding levels and receive ‘Rewards.’ Nothing is actually charged to the Backers until the campaign ends, and only if Eve’s minimum funding goal of $3,000. is met. She can raise more than her goal, but anything less and the project will not be funded.
Kickstarter Rewards must correspond to the creator’s project. In addition to signed softcover books, e-books, T-Shirts and Travel Mugs with the ‘Celestial Bodies’ logo, Eve is promising a pre-release e-book download of her book to anyone who backs her project for $10. or more.
