Tampa, Fla. – (October 2012) – Innovation Cabinetry is hosting an open house and ribbon-cutting from 9:30-11 a.m. October 11 at its new corporate headquarters located at 7030 Anderson Road in Tampa. The event is open to the public and will introduce the wholesale distributor and manufacturer of solid wood cabinets to the Tampa community. Those in attendance will get to see firsthand Innovation Cabinetry’s new 40, 000 square-foot Contractors’ Showroom and Design Center and National Distribution Warehouse, from which all of Innovation’s cabinets are stocked and shipped nationwide.
Area trades, businesses and media are encouraged to stop by for light refreshments and an opportunity to meet members of the Innovation Cabinetry team including president John Huang and division vice president Don Jones, as well as representatives from area chambers of commerce and Hillsborough County Commissioner Sandy Murman. Innovation Cabinetry will also be hosting an invitation-only grand opening and client appreciation event later that weekend.
“We’re excited about being more centrally located for our clients in our new main office in Tampa, where we have been operating since February. Our showroom and design center has been in various stages of preparation but is now complete,” says Don Jones, Vice President for Innovation Cabinetry and who first began working with the cabinetry company as a customer over seven years ago. “We wanted to reach out to the community and invite them to come take a look and meet their new neighbors.”
Innovation Cabinetry opened its doors in 2005 and has steadily built a presence in the U.S. ready-to-assemble cabinetry marketplace, currently experiencing its eighth consecutive year of more than 30% growth. Jones says the manufacturer has been able to buck economic trends with a decision to remain focused and aligned more with home renovation needs rather than tied solely to new construction. The company’s client base, which includes everyone from contractors and home builders to cabinet retailers, can order cabinets by phone, through Innovation Cabinetry’s online store or in person at one of its three showrooms.
“Most of our business has always been remodeling. We were never largely tied to new construction or housing projects, so when that industry experienced major setbacks a few years ago, it didn’t affect us much,” Jones says. “In fact, many of those in new construction at the time re-focused their energies into home remodeling, because that’s where people were putting their money – back into their home– and we were there to accommodate this demand. Now, fortunately, new construction is coming back around and we are well poised to offer builders a high quality, cost-effective option that they may not have had a few years ago.”
Jones says the Tampa Bay company has also been able to set itself apart from other manufacturers through a long-standing commitment to deliver high-quality cabinetry at a lower cost and immediate availability. Innovation Cabinetry does this by streamlining its inventory to feature a core line of seven different all-wood, trademarked and U.S. certified cabinet styles that feature 3/4” plywood construction, solid maple fronts, full-extension drawer glides and 6-way adjustable hinges. All cabinetry is constructed and finished based on standards that conform to EPA specifications.
“We cater to the budget-conscious consumer,” he says. “We still offer a high-quality product, but by focusing on a smaller line of products, we can lower our production costs to pass along those savings to clients without sacrificing workmanship.”
Next spring, Innovation Cabinetry plans to make its debut at its first ever national industry tradeshow by taking part as an exhibitor at the National Kitchen & Bath Association’s annual expo, the Kitchen & Bath Industry Show (KBIS), being held in New Orleans in April 2013.
“We want to be viewed as a national cabinet supplier offering a more cost-effective approach and be looked upon with the more well-known brands, like Kraftmaid, Merillat, and Thomasville, so we’re taking our products to a national stage,” Jones says.
In addition to the new Tampa wholesale showroom and national distribution center, the company continues to operate two other showrooms in St. Petersburg and Clearwater. To accommodate its recent decision to expand, Innovation Cabinetry has already added four new members to its team and plans to hire two more sales personnel by the end of the year. This growth reflects the company’s strategic push to promote its brand nationally, with sales representatives currently in place across 18 different states in the U.S. Jones says he expects continued expansion over the next few years.
