“The airport has often been called Tampa’s living room,” said Tampa International Airport CEO Joe Lopano. “This new program is intended to make the airport not just a way to reach your destination, but a destination in itself that reflects the Tampa Bay region, from the food and beverage selections, to merchandise, to arts and entertainment.”
Friday Flight kicks off October 5 at 5:30 p.m. in the main terminal on the third floor between Airsides A and C with a happy hour martini bar and a nod to the days of glamorous air travel with live music by local lounge act, The Vodkanauts.
“We’re thrilled beyond belief to be a part of the first show at Tampa International Airport,” said Mark “Tweedtone” Warren, guitarist and vocalist for the Vodkanauts. “We’re excited about performing and putting on a show that will really take people back to time when air travel was really something special.”
The Vodkanauts have been playing together for almost 10 years and describe their sound as a power-lounge mix of golden oldies.
