TAMPA – Defense Research Institute (DRI), The Voice of the Defense Bar, recently featured an article authored by Hill Ward Henderson Associate J. Logan Murphy – “Ethics 20/20: The Impact of Technology” in its newsletter, The Voice. In this article, Mr. Murphy provides a brief overview into the amendments passed by the American Bar Association (ABA) to reflect the evolution of technology in the practice of law. The ABA has launched a multi-year project called Ethics 20/20 to help modernize the rules of ethics and bring them into congruence with the current and ever-changing state of technology.
The Voice is an electronic publication for DRI members, an international organization for lawyers involved in the defense of civil litigation. DRI is committed to enhancing the skills, effectiveness and professionalism of defense lawyers; anticipating and addressing issues germane to defense lawyers and the civil justice system; promoting appreciation of the roles of the defense lawyer, improving the civil justice system and preserving the civil jury.
Mr. Murphy is an Associate in the firm’s Commercial Litigation Section and a member of the firm’s Litigation Group. His practice primarily involved the defense of professional malpractice claims, general commercial litigation and appeals. As part of DRI, Mr. Murphy is a member of the Young Lawyers National Steering Committee and serves as the Young Lawyers Liaison to the Commercial Litigation Committee.
