BRADENTON, Fla. (Sept. 26, 2012) – WCI Communities has selected Maryland-based Builders Design to create the interior design for the three-bedroom Agostino model at Tidewater Preserve, the 373-acre boating community located along a two-mile stretch of the Manatee River in Bradenton. The 2,718-square-foot single-family Class Series home is among nine floor plans introduced by WCI at Tidewater Preserve.
The model overlooks a wooded conservation area and will showcase wildlife photography, according to Joe Duffus, president of Builders Design, who also created the interiors at The Lodge, the community’s activity and recreation center.
“The wildlife photography really demonstrates the theme of what you see when you get away from the beach in Florida,” said Duffus. “We have some stunning photos of eagles and owls.”
The Agostino, the largest of Tidewater Preserve’s Classic Series single-family homes, has a dining room, great room, den, three full baths and a powder room. Each of the two guestrooms has a private full bath; one also has a walk-in closet.
The floor plan has tray ceilings in select rooms, granite countertops in the gourmet kitchen and carpet and tiled flooring. It also offers a large storage closet, or “Florida basement,” on the lanai. The Agostino has 4,009 total square feet, including a screened lanai, two-car garage, separate golf cart garage and covered entry.
The model’s interior design will reference the community’s relaxed, casual lifestyle and connection to nature with a traditional theme echoed in calming soft blues and greens accented with driftwood and oil-rubbed metal furniture finishes.
The photography will be introduced in the formal foyer, where accent lighting will create a gallery-like setting, said Duffus, noting other design elements throughout the model that will tie into area activities. For example, an equestrian theme prevails in the den, and one bedroom is designed for a college-age daughter who’s a member of the nationally recognized Sarasota Sharks swim and dive team.
The design also will emphasize the Agostino’s open floor plan between its great room, dining room and kitchen. Accent treatments will appear in the tray ceilings in the dining and great rooms, where sliding glass doors expand the spaces to the covered lanai.
The kitchen offers a free-standing center island with double sink, dishwasher and breakfast island. Cabinetry will have a dark espresso finish.
Touches of blue against a neutral background will create a spa-like setting in the owner’s suite, which features his-and-her walk-in closets and a large bathroom with dual vanities, a separate tub and a shower with mosaic tile. The bed wall will be accented by a vintage door with a light fixture and an upholstered headboard.
A built-in wall treatment in the den will emulate a barn door with roughhewn wood that adds a textured layered look. The design firm also will use reclaimed wood for a headboard treatment in the guestroom.
The Agostino model is expected to be complete mid-January 2013.
The floor plan is priced from $339,990 and is one of three Classic Series designs available at Tidewater Preserve, which also offers carriage and grand villa homes in neighborhoods overlooking the Manatee River, a 50-acre lagoon, multiple lakes and conservation areas. The one- to three-bedroom homes feature two-car garages, spacious owner’s retreats, gourmet kitchens and 1,721 to 2,718 square feet of living space. Several homes also offer dens and flex rooms designed to fulfill a variety of lifestyle scenarios and appeal to primary, retirement and second-home buyers. Homes are priced from $184,990.
Options available in the Agostino include an extended patio, converting the golf cart garage to a one-car garage, lowering the island counter height, adding a summer kitchen to the lanai and converting the den to a fourth bedroom.
With a location convenient to Gulf of Mexico beaches, Tidewater Preserve features approximately two miles of frontage along the Manatee River. Tidewater Preserve’s Port & Court Club offers canoe and kayak opportunities as well as boat slips, a three-court tennis complex, resident activities and special events. The community’s River Walk provides walking, hiking and jogging opportunities along nature trails and boardwalks skirting the river and several conservation areas.
The 5,012-square-foot Lodge, overlooking the river, was designed as the gathering spot for residents and guests. The building offers a community room, lounge, catering kitchen and fitness center with men’s and women’s locker rooms. Outdoor amenities include a resort-style pool and playground.
