TAMPA, Fla. – September 25, 2012 – The University of South Florida (USF) Alumni Association announces the USF Fast 56 awards program which identifies, recognizes and celebrates the world’s 56 fastest growing USF Bull-owned or Bull-operated businesses.
Nominations for the inaugural USF Fast 56 are now open, and all qualified businesses, regardless of location, are welcome to participate. Anyone can nominate a Bull-owned or Bull-operated company through the Association’s website at www.USFfast56.com or by contacting Danny Cooper at email@example.com or 813-974-4802.
Nominated companies are ranked by percentage of cumulative annual growth in sales or revenue (net of returns) for the company’s three most recent 12-month reporting periods ending August 31, 2012.
The criteria to be nominated to the exclusive 2012 USF Fast 56 are:
· Business must have been in operation for a minimum of 36 months prior to August 31, 2012.
· Business must have verifiable revenues of at least $250,000 for the most recent 12-month reporting period.
· Business must be owned or operated by a former USF student* who meets one of the following:
a) A former USF student or group of former students must have owned 50 percent or more of the company through the eligible period; OR
b) A former USF student must have served as the company’s chief executive (for example, chairman, CEO, president, or managing partner) through the eligible period; OR
c) A former USF student must have founded the company and been active as a member of the most senior management team during the eligible period.
*For the purposes of this award, a “former student” is defined as someone completing 60 hours of coursework at any accredited institution of the USF System.
Nominated companies are contacted to verify their desire to participate, and applications are distributed to those who choose to participate. All applications and required financial documents are provided directly to the program’s accounting firm, Ernst & Young, which will receive the information and tabulate the results. Neither the University nor the USF Alumni Association will see or have access to the company’s application or required financial documents.
The USF Fast 56 honorees will be celebrated at a recognition gala at USF Tampa on April 12, 2013.
