Tampa, Fla. (Feb. 7, 2012) – Cru Cellars, recently named Creative Loafing’s Best of the Bay’s Wine Bar, is celebrating the grand opening of the new wine garden by hosting the Third Annual “Perfect Pairing” wine tasting event on Thursday, October 11 from 7-10 p.m.
The event to benefit The Children’s Home features more than 35 wines, each perfectly paired with artisanal cheeses, small bites or deserts. Guests will taste the wonderful small-production wines Cru has to offer and enjoy the new wine garden. There will be live music by Tampa’s popular Singer/Songwriter Woody.
“This is the biggest and best tasting we do all year and we’re excited for everyone to enjoy our amazing new wine garden for the first time,” Cru Cellars Owner and Certified Sommelier Jennifer Bingham said.
A Perfect Pairing will also feature a sneak peak of the new fall menu created by In Bloom Catering and Creative Food Concepts including tuna tartar, spiced rubbed lamb lollipops and honey-hoisin glazed filet of salmon. Guests will also sample some of the new brunch options as Cru Cellars prepares to offer Saturday and Sunday wine brunch later this month.
“As we’ve grown we’ve listened to our customers’ feedback on ideas including adding a wine garden and weekend brunch,” Bingham said. “We’re thrilled to be able to offer both now.”
Ten percent of the proceeds and sales will go directly to The Children’s Home. The nonprofit organization cares for nearly 100 abused or neglected children each year. Over the years, The Children’s Home has cared for more than 25,000 children in the Tampa Bay community.
