CLEARWATER, Fla. – Kerry Nelson, Gas Specialist, has been named the 2012 Donald L. Napier Natural Gas Operating Person of the Year, by the Florida Natural Gas Association (FNGA).
Nelson, an eight-year veteran employee of Clearwater Gas System, has been instrumental in the operation of Clearwater Gas System’s Natural Gas Vehicle (NGV) filling station on Hercules Avenue. He is a key player in making sure the NGV station is fully operational and ready to fuel the public and private NGVs that frequent the station. Nelson is also responsible for the maintenance of four gate stations and 40 regulator stations within Clearwater Gas System’s service territory. Nelson’s nomination highlights his willingness to quickly respond to requests for assistance from citizens, customers, fellow employees, and/or fellow gas industry associates. Nelson is routinely known as the “subject matter expert” in the area of Gas Supply and Distribution by his co-workers and industry peers.
“I have full confidence in Kerry. He has a strong work ethic and goes above and beyond the call of duty to get the job done,” said Brian Langille, Gas Operations Manager. Nelson received the honorary award during the 2012 Florida Natural Gas Association’s Operating and Marketing Conference on Sept.19, 2012.
