• Rebuilding Together Tampa Bay to Join Rebuilding Together Affiliates Nationwide to make a positive impact throughout our Nation’s Communities

    Tampa, FL April 29th, 2017- Rebuilding Together Tampa Bay (RTTB) joins affiliates nationwide engaging volunteers to make a    positive impact in the lives of low income homeowners. This year, RTTB continues its work in the historic neighborhood of West Tampa making homes safer and healthier for its residents

    Volunteers from Bank of America, Booz Allen Hamilton, Pulte Group and Crossing Church will complete much need repairs to four (4) homes for residents that cannot afford the repairs on their own.

We are grateful that corporations and volunteers like those helping us on Rebuild Day continue supporting these efforts and the lives of low income homeowners.     This year’s projects are targeting families with children to ensure that they grow and live in a safer and healthier environment. This Saturday’s projects are part of six more completed during April 19th and 20th by over 100 volunteers from Lowe’s who dedicated hours of work to address the needs of five homeowners and one Community Center.

    In October of 2016, Rebuilding Together Tampa Bay launched “Building A Healthier West Tampa” with the initial support of the Children’s Board of Hillsborough County. The first two years of this project will focus in homes with children 8 and under and senior citizens. RTTB is also working closely with local leaders and stakeholders to contribute towards Affordable Housing opportunities for First Time Buyers in the future.

    Rebuilding Together Tampa Bay is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that provides free home repairs to low-income families, the elderly, wounded veterans, victims of disasters and persons with disabilities. Rebuilding Together Tampa Bay makes homes safer, healthier and more energy efficient by providing an array of home rehabilitation services including emergency services, accessibility modifications, home improvements, weatherproofing and barrier removal.

     

    This is all made possible through the support from foundations, corporations, public and individual sponsors; local businesses; skilled labor; and the hands-on work of hundreds of volunteers each year. Since its inception in 2000, RTTB has repaired over 500 homes and a non-profit facility involving over 10,000 volunteers totaling a value of more than $4 million.
