TAMPA, FLA (April 10, 2017) – In an effort to protect pets and keep the community safe from disease, the Humane Society of Tampa Bay will offer free vaccinations for dogs on Saturday, April 22nd, from 9am to 12pm at the Good Samaritan Mission in Wimauma. The event is one of the Society’s largest community outreach efforts and free vaccinations (Distemper/Parvovirus (DA2PP), Rabies) will be given to the first 1000 dogs. The April 22nd clinic will be the first of two offered in 2017, thanks to generous funding from an anonymous donor.
“Part of our mission is to “provide care … for companion animals in need,’” said CEO Sherry Silk. “Making sure that pets in disadvantaged areas receive the preventative care they need to live healthy lives goes a long way to fulfilling that goal.”
As a “thank you” to the Good Samaritan Mission and in an effort to extend compassion to humans in need, the Humane Society of Tampa Bay is asking shot clinic guests to bring a can of food or other non-perishable items, toiletries, and/or diapers for the Mission’s Food Pantry.
“We are a very community-oriented organization,” said Silk. “Tampa Bay citizens do so much to support our animals, it is important for us to give back and help them in their time of need.”
Requirements to participate in the clinic are as follows:
