St. Petersburg, FL (April 5, 2017) – The City of St. Petersburg is seeking an interested business and/or property owner, resident or stakeholder to fill one vacancy on the Citizen Advisory Committee (CAC) for the South St. Petersburg Community Redevelopment Area (CRA). The City will be accepting resumes until Monday, May 1, 2017, at 5 p.m. and expects to have an appointee confirmed by City Council in time for the CAC meeting on June 6, 2017. The term of service will be for the remainder of a three-year term that ends on January 31, 2020. The appointee will be eligible to serve another three-year term.

The CAC, created by an inter-local agreement between St. Petersburg City Council and the Pinellas County Board of County Commissioners in 2015, is the City’s first redevelopment advisory committee and is comprised of nine members – six of those are appointed by the Mayor and three appointed by the County Commission. The CAC advises the St. Petersburg Community Redevelopment Agency on the South St. Petersburg Redevelopment Plan and any related amendments as well as other issues and policies pertaining to the CRA. The CAC regular meetings scheduled for the remainder of 2017 are June 6, August 1, October 3, and December 5. The CAC will be meeting on those days at 5 p.m. in Room 100 of City Hall.
