Tampa Bay’s well-heeled women put their hearts and “soles” into enriching the lives of individuals with disabilities at this dazzling shoe-themed fundraiser
TAMPA, FL – (March 13, 2017) – Easterseals Florida is pleased to announce its eighth annual A Pair to Remember, Friday, March 24 from 10:30 a.m. until 2 p.m. at Tampa’s Straz Center for the Performing Arts. This exciting and dynamic ladies luncheon mixes cocktails and couture with compassion for those with special needs.
“The perfect pair of heels makes anyone look and feel good but this year, buying a new pair of Jimmy Choos can help others too,” said Event Chair Robin Roberts. “This great organization makes an incredible impact in the lives of children and families in our community, and the fact that 94 cents of every dollar raised goes directly to the programs and services makes you feel confident about donating your time and money.”
Easterseals Florida is a non-profit organization providing essential services to children, adults and veterans with disabilities and special needs, as well as to their caregivers. Every year, it hosts A Pair to Remember to help fund these programs. Ladies enjoy a luncheon complete with a champagne reception, silent auction and live auction including the season’s hottest designer shoes. Local boutiques and shoe manufacturers from all over the world come together to create the ultimate “pairing” of designer shoes and luxury live auction packages. Guests can expect brands like Valentino, Manolo Blahnik and M.Gemi paired with exotic trips to the British Virgin Islands and exquisite dining experiences at Rococo Steak. Last year’s event raised a record-breaking $144,000.
Event emcees are local celebrity personalities, Rhonda Shear, an actress and comedian, and Anthony Sullivan, most commonly known as the Oxi-Clean guy. This dynamic duo brings celebrity star power and keeps the room full of energy while ladies are sipping champagne and raising their bid paddles high in the air.
Fundraising events like A Pair to Remember would not be possible without the generous support of businesses through their sponsorships and donations. BMO Harris Bank is this year’s presenting sponsor.
“BMO’s promise to customers that, ‘We’re here to help,’ also applies to our role in the communities where we live and work,” said Melissa Murphy, BMO Harris Bank’s VP of Community Affairs. “There’s no question that Easterseals is leading the way in advocating for the disability community; that’s why we’re so proud to be their partner on this wonderful event.”
