    Trenam Shareholders John S. Vento and Don B. Weinbren Receive Legion of Honor Award by Kiwanis Club of Tampa

    March 9, 2017 – Tampa, Fla. – Trenam Law is pleased to announce that shareholders John S. Vento and Don B. Weinbren received the Legions of Honor Award from the Kiwanis Club of Tampa. The award was given at a luncheon on March 8, 2017 at The Tampa Club. The award is given in recognition to those members with 25 or more years of service. The Kiwanis Club of Tampa supports more than 20 programs and charitable organizations. The organization helps children with programs such as their “K-Kids” program as well as serving the community with assisting in building wheelchair ramps and other construction projects.
    Vento, a member of the firm’s Construction Law and Government Contracting Group, was named Construction Litigation Lawyer of the Year 2014 in Tampa by Best Lawyers in America and is in the top 100 in Florida and top 50 in Tampa Bay in Super Lawyers for construction law. Vento is Florida Bar Board Certified in Construction Law and is a Florida Supreme Court Certified Civil Court Mediator. He has also been certified as a Mediator by the United States District Court for the Middle District of Florida. John has been an Arbitrator with the American Arbitration Association since 1982 and serves on the Complex Case and Construction Panels. Vento has experience in the areas of Qui Tam/Whistleblower claims, federal government contracting, private, public and federal construction contracting, private, public and federal construction disputes, international law, arbitration and mediation, and medical health care fraud. Vento received a B.A., cum laude, from University of Pittsburgh; J.D., cum laude, from Duquesne University School of Law; LL.M., International Law, University of Michigan Law School; and National Endowment for the Humanities Fellow from Yale Law School. Vento is AV rated by Martindale-Hubbell and ranked by Chambers USA in construction law.
    Weinbren, a member of the firm’s Business Transactions Practice Group, concentrates his practice in health care, corporate and business law, taxation, estate planning and insurance planning. His practice also includes managed care contracts, medical reimbursements, provider contracts, state and federal regulation of health care industries, including licensure and audit defense, business formation and entity Selection, buy-sell, employment, management and consulting agreements, business transactions and planning, including purchases, sales, mergers and acquisitions, corporate, partnership and LLC Taxation, general corporate representation, private placements, asset protection planning, estate planning, wills and trusts, and prenuptial and postnuptial agreements.
