• Straz Center’s Patel Conservatory presents  You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown

Tampa, Fla. – The Patel Conservatory at the Straz Center for the Performing Arts will present You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown, sponsored by USAmeriBank, in the TECO Theater April 21-30.

Performed by Patel Conservatory students in grades five through 12, Charles Schulz’s beloved comic strip comes to life onstage in Clark Gesner’s classic musical. The whole gang is here: bossy Lucy, hopelessly in love with oblivious piano prodigy Schroeder; perfectionist Sally, mocking blanket-toting Linus; Snoopy in the doghouse; and the “blockhead” himself, Charlie Brown.

You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown will be directed by Suzanne Livesay, Straz Center vice president of Education, with music direction by Kavanaugh Gillespie and choreography by Steven Jones.

A sensory-friendly performance, designed to create a performing arts experience that is welcoming to patrons with autism or with other disabilities that create sensory sensitivities, will be held April 23 at 2 p.m. Accommodations for this performance include lower sound level, lights on a low level in the theater during the performance, a reduction of strobe lighting and lighting focused on the audience. Also, patrons are free to talk and leave their seats during the performance and there will be a designated quiet area within the theater.

Performances are Thursday and Friday at 7 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday at 2 and 7 p.m. Regularly priced tickets to You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown start at $15 and may be purchased by calling 813.229.STAR (7827) or 800.955.1045 outside Tampa Bay, in person at the Straz Center Ticket Office or online at www.strazcenter.org.

More information is available by calling 813.222.1002 and at www.patelconservatory.org.
