Next Gen “Home Within a Home” floorplans are now available at Sereno in Wimauma
Tampa, Fla. (February 23, 2017) – Lennar’s Next Gen homes provide an independent living space for in-laws, college students or frequent guests, and they are now offered in the new-home community of Sereno in Wimauma. The attached suites in the multigenerational homes have a separate entrance, bedroom, living area and kitchenette, along with a variety of other features that give residents a feeling of independence while being only steps away from the rest of the household.
In addition to providing space for family members or guests, the versatile suites can also serve a variety of other creative uses, such as a home office, gym or art studio.
The Next Gen floorplan available in Sereno, called the Liberation, totals 3,858 square feet. The home has a master bedroom, a kitchenette with a dining area and a comfortable living room. The suite has its own exterior entrance and an internal entrance through the living room that connects to the main home.
The main part of the home has five bedrooms, 3½ bathrooms and an upstairs loft that can be used as a game room or second family room. The kitchen features an island and an eat-in café, and the home has a two-car garage for the main house and a one-car garage for the Next Gen suite.
Kim and Lawrence Smith recently purchased a Next Gen home in the nearby Lennar community of South Fork, in Riverview. The couple was living in a single-family Lennar home when Lawrence visited the Next Gen model in South Fork and instantly knew it was right for his family. With Kim’s mother soon retiring and moving to the Tampa Bay area from Miami, the Next Gen suite would provide the perfect living situation for her – close to the family, but in her own, separate space.
“This home was not only my mother’s dream retirement home, but also my dream home for my family,” Kim said. “As soon as I saw the spacious, open floorplan and realized that my mother would truly have her own ‘home within a home,’ I knew my husband had the right idea.”
The Smiths have three children, ages 2, 4, and 15, and Kim’s niece also occasionally stays with them when she’s home from college. Kim’s mother, Marlene, will move in this summer, but has already started making the suite her own on frequent visits.
“I was planning to rent an apartment, but when Kim and Lawrence introduced the idea of the Next Gen home, I couldn’t turn down the wonderful opportunity to be so close to my family,” Marlene said. “My suite gives me all the space I need while also allowing me to spend quality time with my grandkids.”
The Next Gen homes in Sereno are part of Lennar’s Everything’s Included approach, which means a number of upgraded features are included in the list price. The Liberation floorplan comes move-in ready with a complete kitchen appliance package, a large capacity washer and dryer, two-inch designer blinds and USB outlets in the kitchen and master bathroom. It also has an upgraded Florida-friendly landscape package designed to be low-maintenance while enhancing the architectural style of the home.
