• John Oakes named CEO of Revenue Management Solutions

    Company co-founder Tom Kelly becomes Chairman Emeritus and Advisor

    TAMPA, Fla. (January 24, 2017) – Revenue Management Solutions (RMS), the industry leader in bringing a data-based approach to menu pricing for many of the world’s top restaurant companies, has announced that John Oakes has been promoted to Chief Executive Officer, succeeding Tom Kelly, who co-founded the Company and will continue to serve RMS as Chairman Emeritus and Advisor.

    Oakes, previously Chief Operating Officer for RMS, has played a major role in helping grow the company from one office in Tampa to a global organization that does business in more than 30 countries.

    His extensive experience in management, technology infrastructure, system design and data analytics has directly impacted the development of software and systems essential to RMS’ core solution offerings. Under his leadership, RMS has dramatically scaled its technology infrastructure and team, leading to an exceptional ability to deliver insights using data.

    Oakes, who first joined the Company as a programmer in 2002, takes over a wide range of responsibilities. In his new role as CEO, he leads all company divisions and is responsible for development and execution of RMS’ strategy. Oakes has a bachelor’s degree from the University of Tampa, and earned a Master of Business Administration degree at the University of Florida.

    The growth and success of RMS has been led by Tom Kelly, a founding partner of RMS, one of the hospitality industry’s top thought leaders for more than 40 years. He is considered one of the world’s foremost authorities on menu pricing due to his extensive knowledge in operations, revenue management, marketing, quality assurance and development.

    Prior to founding RMS in 1994, Kelly held a variety of senior operational positions in the hotel and restaurant industry and spent more than 30 years teaching hospitality management at Cornell University and the University of Minnesota-Crookston. He has also taught at the university level in France, Brazil and Singapore.

    As Chairman Emeritus and Advisor for RMS, Kelly will continue to provide thought leadership and advice as the Company grows within the restaurant industry.
